Shelf Drawings
Found Books
Found Books consists of an ink drawing depicting a collection of real unpublished books, unwritten books, lost manuscripts, books believed to have existed, and imaginary books mentioned in works of fiction. All these books now only exist as names, therefore they are just book spines, never meant to be open or read. It was published in a zine created as a collaboration for Informe de Lesiones, a show by Jorge Tacla at Galería Nemesio Antúnez in 2016.
Great Artists Series: Kerwin Rochester
This drawing shows a shelf stacked with books about Kerwin Rochester, a fictitious American artist who excels in every discipline of the visual arts. This inaccessible collection -with titles between the specialized and the commonplace- recalls the thrill of discovering an unknown master by reading book spines, while assuming the fact that a section in the bookshelf has proved to be the one of the best career records an artist can aspire to.
